Methodology: Ranking AI Websites by Estimated Visits

HuntAI uses third-party website-visit estimates as one AI-tool discovery signal. This page explains canonical domains, source months, parent-domain relationships, and unavailable states.

Data source and displayed fields

When available, we show Similarweb estimates for a canonical website, its source month, global rank, and traffic trends. They can help compare website attention; they do not represent users, paid customers, revenue, model quality, security, or an independent review. When a product only maps to a parent domain, the page states that the figure covers the whole site rather than the feature.

Ranking and browsing

The natural traffic ranking first deduplicates by canonical domain, then sorts estimated website visits descending with domain as the stable tie-breaker. Only approved products linked to sites whose AI scope is included can enter; exclusion reasons remain in Site review fields. Sponsorships, attribution, backlinks, payments, and profile claims do not change the natural order.

Growth compares adjacent source months only. When the previous month is missing or zero, or evidence conflicts, growth is unavailable. Fastest Growing also requires at least 1,000 previous-month visits and 1,000 absolute gained visits; Largest Gainers sorts the adjacent-month absolute change. Parent-platform traffic never enters product ranks, shares, or growth rates.

Updates, gaps, and limits

Source data changes with coverage, website matching, and refresh timing. A missing eligible snapshot is unavailable; a present snapshot estimated at 0 remains zero. Conflicting payloads for the same site-month fail closed and do not enter the natural ranking. Estimates can lag or miss smaller sites, so combine them with trials, pricing, privacy, and integration requirements; do not use them for financial or investment decisions.

Method version and anomaly handling

Version 1.0 (2026-08-01): introduced independent-domain eligibility, adjacent-month growth, the 1,000/1,000 growth threshold, and canonical-domain deduplication. Outliers are never silently rewritten; conflicts, non-finite or negative visits, and month gaps are excluded or marked unavailable, and corrections require verifiable evidence.

Corrections and listing

If product information, an official site, or topic context needs correction, use the path in the listing guide to share it. We review verifiable information; free review and display do not depend on a backlink.

Frequently asked questions

Are these numbers real time?

No. They depend on source-data availability and refresh timing; pages reflect new records after available data updates.

Is the highest-traffic tool always the best fit?

Not necessarily. Traffic is a discovery signal; the actual choice should still consider features, budget, privacy, and workflow.
